Dave is excited to be part of the Lightbridge Family and help create a Circle of Care feeling for every teacher, parent, and child at our amazing school! He has taught and served as an administrator in elementary and early childhood settings for over twenty-five years. His professional and personal journey has taken him to wonderful communities like the Bronx, Westchester County, Vermont, Nigeria, and Brooklyn. In all these settings, he's collaborated with parents and teachers to create exciting and nurturing environments for young children. Our Assistant Director, Carla Byrd has earned a Fine Art degree in Illustration at the School of Visual Arts, and still holds on to dreams of writing and illustrating Children's books. After attending SVA, Carla fell in love with Early Childhood Education when she began as an Infant Assistant Teacher and Center Art Teacher in Westchester County, New York. Her time in Childcare classrooms has led her to obtain a Master's of Science in Education from Mercy College, and she holds NYS Teaching licenses to teach Early Childhood, Childhood, and Special Education. She has held roles of Lead Infant Teacher, Regional Art Teacher, Education Director, and now is happy to fulfill the role of Assistant Director of Lightbridge Academy of Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
