Owned and operated by William and Olivia Minnebo, Lightbridge Academy of Garnet Valley is a family-centered childcare center deeply rooted in the local community. Originally opened by William’s parents, our school proudly continues a legacy of exceptional early childhood education, strong family values, and a genuine commitment to supporting working families throughout Garnet Valley and the surrounding communities.

As parents to a one-year-old ourselves, we understand firsthand the importance of finding a childcare center that feels like an extension of your family. Our continued growth is supported by an exceptional leadership team. We are proud to be led by Executive Director Laura Doerr, a local Garnet Valley resident and mother of three. Laura brings a wealth of experience in early childhood education and childcare leadership, having served in director-level roles throughout her career. She also holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education, providing a unique blend of educational expertise, leadership experience, and a deep understanding of the needs of children, families, and educators.

At Lightbridge Academy, our classrooms encourage creativity, hands-on learning, exploration, and problem-solving in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children build the foundation for lifelong success. Through our Seedlings® curriculum, enrichment programs, STEM experiences, social-emotional learning opportunities, and play-based discovery, children develop academically, socially, and emotionally while fostering a lifelong love of learning.

One of the defining strengths of our daycare and preschool center is our dedicated and experienced teaching team. Many of our educators have served at our center for several years and maintain extensive training and certifications in early childhood education and child development. This consistency allows children to build secure, meaningful relationships with their teachers while giving parents confidence and trust in their childcare choice.
