The process of starting your own child care business can be stressful, but one of the many benefits of choosing business ownership through franchising is the guidance and support you receive every step of the way. From your first call with us all the way to your grand opening, Lightbridge Academy’s franchise development process lays out every step, making opening your center straightforward and seamless. Read on to learn more.

Step 1: Get Started

It all starts here! Once you submit our online form, a member of our franchise development team will schedule a get-to-know-you call. We’ll discuss your financial goals and background, as well as share more information about your opportunity with Lightbridge Academy. If we both determine it’s a good fit, we’ll move forward.

Step 2: Discuss Business

Here’s where you’ll get to know us a little better. You’ll submit your franchise application, and in turn, we’ll provide you with a copy of our franchise disclosure document (FDD). Please review the FDD carefully, as it contains a lot of important information about your investment in Lightbridge Academy, including fees and royalties, financial statements, and our obligations to one another. You’ll have plenty of time to ask questions when we review it together.

Step 3: Deep Dive

Admittedly, this is our favorite part: Discovery Day! On Discovery Day, you’ll visit our home office in New Jersey and spend the day with us learning about our child care franchise opportunity, meeting our executive team, and touring a Lightbridge Academy center. It’s a great chance for us to ask deeper questions of each other and learn more from our home office team. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn from other potential franchisees in attendance.

Step 4: Decision Time

After Discovery Day, we should both have the information we need to make final decisions about franchise ownership. Pending the completion of financial verification, background checks, and your franchise profile survey, we may decide to award you a Lightbridge Academy franchise. If you’re ready to move forward with us, you’ll sign your franchise agreement and become a part of our family!

Step 5: Discussion Time

Next up, you will work with our development and real estate team to begin the site selection process and review available opportunities. This is your opportunity to identify a suitable site as you perform your due diligence and conduct a competitive analysis. We provide you with information needed to negotiate the lease and obtain the necessary permits and licenses.

Step 6: Home Stretch

Before you open your Lightbridge Academy center, you’ll need to complete the required franchise training, hire your center’s administrative team, and implement your pre-opening marketing plan to generate leads and pre-enrollments. Once construction is completed, obtain your certificate of occupancy, state license, and Lightbridge Academy Certificate of Opening. Finally, open your doors and celebrate with a grand opening event!
