🍌 Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas (the spottier, the better)
- ½ cup (1 stick) melted butter
- ¾ cup sugar (adjust to ½ cup for less sweetness)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
Optional add-ins:
- ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- 1 tsp cinnamon
🍞 Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mash bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
- Mix wet ingredients:
- Stir in melted butter.
- Add sugar, egg, and vanilla. Mix well.
- Add dry ingredients:
- Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture.
- Stir in flour until just combined (don’t overmix).
- Add extras (if using), then pour batter into the loaf pan.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
🔥 Tips for best results
- Use very ripe bananas (almost black skins = more flavor).
- Don’t overmix once you add flour—this keeps it soft.
- If the top browns too fast, loosely cover with foil halfway through baking.
