A Message From Us

Thank you for your interest in Lightbridge Academy of Elmsford! My name is Jennifer Voehl. I am so excited to be the Director here at Lightbridge Academy, Elmsford. I was born and raised in the neighboring towns of Irvington and Dobbs Ferry. I have over 28 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. My experiences range from teaching, directing and parenting through the years. I have been a classroom Teacher for 13 years and a Director for 15 years. I am excited for this experience to enable me to ensure that every child has an opportunity to succeed in a warm and safe learning environment by using my knowledge, skills and experience to create such an atmosphere and continue to strengthen my abilities as an educator. I have my bachelor’s degree from Mercy College in Behavioral Studies and Early Childhood Education. I am also a mother of four. I believe that communication is the key to your child’s success and to a great Parent/Teacher/Center relationship.

Lightbridge Academy of Elmsford is owned by Ram & JoAnne Jagadeesan. Ram & JoAnne decided to open a center after their own experience with their three children attending Lightbridge Academy. All three children have gone to Lightbridge Academy from the age of 6 months old to 4 years old and they fell in love with their parent experience so much that they decided to provide that level of care and education to many other families as well. By being a part of the Lightbridge Academy family, as parents, they are now both very excited to serve the community by bringing their same experience to many families in the Westchester area.

Our Seedlings curriculum focuses on the whole child, incorporating areas such as writing (Handwriting Without Tears), language and literacy, social and emotional development, STREAM (science, technology, reading, engineering, art, math), and utilizing the outdoor learning environment for collaborative learning and play. Our center also offers state-of-the-art technology including a touchless entry system, interactive whiteboards, ParentView® internet monitoring, and Momentpath; our e-communication system. These tools all help us reach our goal of keeping parents connected to our center and to their child throughout the day. We strive to meet the needs of our working families as well as our stay-at-home moms/dads who are looking for a program that will offer early education and socialization for their children on a part time basis. To do so, we offer our families a flexibility in programming, ranging from 2, 3 or 5 days per week for children ages 6 weeks through Preschool/Pre-K including Full Day Kindergarten, and Virtual Support programs for children in grades K-5! We look forward to meeting you and having you join our family!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Voehl Center Director

Can I enroll my child in Lightbridge Academy at any time?

Yes. Enrollment at all Lightbridge Academy locations is ongoing as long as space is available.

Is there a minimum or maximum number of days per week my child can attend Lightbridge Academy?

All Lightbridge Academy locations are open Monday through Friday. Most programs are available from 2 to 5 days per week. Back-up care is available on a daily and space available basis.

How will I be informed about my child's progress at Lightbridge Academy?
Effective communication happens on an ongoing and daily basis through our parent eCommunication app. You will receive ongoing and daily reports detailing important classroom announcements, reminders, photos, and videos so you won’t miss a thing! It is also a great tool for doctor visits helping to keep track of important information such as what your child ate, how they slept and even potty details. In addition, teachers will track your child’s development by taking observation notes based on our curriculum. We review this information with you twice a year at our Parent Teacher conferences. Of course, directors and teachers are always available to speak with you at any time.
What is the average adult to child ratio at most Lightbridge Academy locations?
Each Lightbridge Academy center meets or exceeds state regulations regarding adult to child ratios. You can rest assured that your child will receive an abundance of attention from trained and caring early childhood professionals.
